Pulmonary Embolism

A pulmonary embolism or PE is a blood clot lodged on the arteries going into the lungs. Since no blood can flow past the obstruction in these veins then that blood will not be oxygenated. If the clot is large enough blood flowing from the heart cannot be oxygenated and the patient dies.
