The Us Food and Drug Administration has changed the warning labels on three long-acting bronchodilators to state that these medicines could increase the chance of severe asthma attacks which could result in death.

According to the ACP Journal Club page 23 of the July/August 2005 issue,, short term use (less than one year) of inhaled corticosteroids did not increase non-vertebral fractures in adults with asthma or COPD. This study had it's detractors who pointed out that the amount of time for the study was too short and was funded by a drug manufacturer.
