Azamacort

What is it - Azmacort or Triamcinolone Acentonide is a corticosteriod, meaning that it decreases inflamation in the breathing tubes. It is taken as a MDI or inhaler. It is not meant for the short term relief of asthma, but rather for long term maintanence.

Facts concerning Triamcinolone Acentonide -

At least 240 puffs are contained in one canister

The first time a inhaler is used and each time it is not used for three days the canister must be primed, meaning that it must be actuated twice before it is used.

Azmacort is 8 times more potent than prednisone

Improvement using this medication may occur within one week after using the inhaler, but it may not be achieved for two weeks for longer. As such it will not work as a rescue medicine.
