Beclovent or Beclomethasone Dipropionate

What is it - Beclovent is an inhaled corticosteroid a medicine used to decrease inflamation by inhibiting inflamitory cells and the release of inflamitory mediators. Unlike bronchodilators like xopenex or albuterol, Beclovent isn't meant for acute symptoms of asthma, but for more of a maintence medicine. Beclovent is no longer available in the United States.

Also known as QVAR, vanceril its generic name is Beclomethasone dipropionate.

Some things to know before taking Beclovent

Prime the inhaler before first use and if the inhaler has not been used for over 10 days.

This medication will take one to two weeks before full effect is seen.
