Cromolyn Sodium / Intal

What is it - Cromolyn Sodium is a bronchodilator, meaning a medicine that dialates the bronchioles of the lung. It is supplied to the lungs as a mist from a nebulizer

How does it work - Cromolyn Sodium works in a slightly different way than other anti-inflamitories. It inhibits sensitized mast cells. This keeps the airway from becoming inflamed. It is for the prevention of asthma attacks.

More Information - Cromolyn needs to be taken for six to 12 weeks in order for it to work effectively. It is considered to be one of the safest medicines used in the management of asthma.
